Da Hu Chun (DaHuChun, Middle Sichuan Road)

Da Hu Chun 大壶春 is a renowned restaurant chain that has gained locals' recognition with stably delivered local flavors and friendly prices.

The food range served in Da Hu Chun is quite simple, most of the items listed on the menu are pan-fried Sheng Jian Bao 生煎包 (a kind of fried-dumpling-like food), while the others are the soups and dim sums like wontons or baked crispy cakes that are commonly served in the other similar local cheap-eat restaurants.

Sheng Jian Bao is a must-try if you are new to the city as it's the foundation of this Michelin Guide recommended restaurant.

The restaurant located on Middle Sichuan Road next to the Bund is the flagship of the chain, queues at lunch or dinner time might be inevitable, but when you acquire the satisfaction brought by those tasty foods, it's been made up.

Don't expect high on the service, as this is not the inclusion in the standard list of a state-owned enterprise.
