Paulaner (Xintiandi) Closed

Paulaner Bräuhaus Shanghai is a restaurant chain that specializes in Bavarian and international cuisine (think lots of sausage) while serving popular micro-brewed Paulaner beers to the delight of beer lovers.

Paulaner Shanghai's Xintiandi location combines the historical charm of old Shanghai with a German cultural experience. It's the best of both worlds!

This particular Paulaner venue opened its doors in 2001, and was an immediate hit with both tourists and locals due to its convenient location and relaxing ambiance. The venue is located inside a traditional Chinese shikumen, or "stone gate", house which the area is most well known for.

While the building's architecture has remained distinctly Chinese, the decor on the inside reflects the culture and atmosphere of a true German beer house. It's cozy, unique, and after a few pints of Paulaner's lager, dark, or wheat beers, it's a whole lot of fun.

The outdoor seating area in the courtyard can be quite an enjoyable area for relaxing on sunny days.
